Osteopathy
is a system of diagnosis and treatment which lays its’ main
emphasis on the structural integrity of the body. Although best
know as a treatment for bad backs and painful muscles and joints,
it can in fact be used to treat a wide variety of illness. An
osteopath assesses a patient from a mechanical, functional and
structural standpoint and then uses a variety of manipulative
techniques to return the functions to normal.
Cranial Osteopathy
(or Craniosacral Therapy) is a specialized area of osteopathy
which uses the rhythmic pulse of the cerebrospinal fluid for diagnosis
and treatments. It is a particularly gentle technique and therefore
most suitable for babies, pregnant woman and others of similarly
sensitive disposition. more
Acupuncture
Acupuncture
is an ancient Chinese healing system which is used to treat people
with a wide range of illnesses. In addition to treating specific
symptoms connected to the various physical and psychological conditions
it can also be used to improve the overall well being of a patient
and thus act as a preventative measure against further illnesses.
Very fine (and painless) needles
are inserted into various acupuncture points which can stimulate
the body’s own healing response and help to restore its
natural balance. This has also been shown to cause the release
of our own natural pain killers, endorphin and serotonin. more
